Pris has always been interested in
art. Early in her career she obtained a degree in graphic design and worked in
many phases of the advertising industry, while continuing her studies in
architectural drafting and landscape/architectural renderings.
In the first years of her painting
she was largely self taught. Later she studied with Marc Chatov of Atlanta,
Georgia and Burton Silverman of New York City for figurative studies and greatly admires
Milt Kobayashi's artistic style. Early in landscape studies she has worked with
Mel Fillerup of Cody, Wyoming, Esther Reinwalt of Blythe, California, and Bill
Condit of Denver, Colorado. Of late, her instructors have been Ann Templeton of
Ruidoso, New Mexico and Bill Herring of Clint, Texas.
Her works have been shown in
galleries as America Oh Yes! who has galleries in Washington, D.C., San
Francisco and Hilton Head, South Carolina, the Modern Primitive of Atlanta,
Georgia, and Timpson Creek Gallery, Clayton, Georgia.
Recent publications she can be found
in are: International Artist Magazine "How To" Books in 2004,
"How Did You Paint That?", "100 Ways to Paint May Favorite
Things" Vol. 1 and "How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint a
Landscape" Vol. 1. Covers of catalogs for Colorado Cyclist are among recent
paintings in 1993, 1994, 2001, Island Scene Magazine at Hilton Head Island in
1992, and Land Rover Guides cover painting Fall 1996.
